I married my beautiful wife Ruth on December 30th, 2000. Shortly after that we felt the call of God to attend Appalachian Bible College. After graduating with my Bachelor of Arts in 2004, majoring in Biblical Studies and minoring in Pastoral Ministries, we felt God calling us back to West Michigan and in particular Grace. I started in June of 2004 and I have been ministering at Grace ever since. God has blessed me and Ruth with 5 amazing children – Kathryn, Josiah, Helen, Wesley, and Olivia. I put a high priority on my family being my first ministry, and the church coming second. My passion is to help lost people find Jesus and to see those who know Jesus grow daily in their relationship with Him. I have seen God do amazing things here at Grace in the past 8 years, and I can’t wait to see what God is going to do in the next 20! I am an avid and at times fanatical sports fan and love all things outdoors, especially hunting. I look forward to every summer when I get to ride my motorcycle! If you find yourself at Grace, make sure you come up and say Hi, I look forward to meeting you.
Hi, my name is Chris. I have been on staff at Grace since July 2016. I oversee the small group ministry and serve on the executive board. My wife and I were involved in youth ministry at our previous church in Illinois. I love watching tennis, playing racquetball and ping pong, doing home projects, and drinking coffee. Call or email me sometime and let’s go grab some joe!
Hi! I’m Lisa, also lovingly (I think!) known around the office as the Office Commander. My husband, Heath, and I have been married for 10 years and are small group leaders. I have been at Grace since we were married and in my current position since 2012. Along with managing the day to day church office, I also take care of the financial side of things, and lead our women’s ministry, “Ladies of Grace”. I LOVE what I do! In my spare time (what’s that?) I enjoy spending time with my hubby and our nieces & nephews, grabbing lunch or coffee with friends, reading, and traveling!
Worship Arts Director
My husband, Frank, and I have been married since March of 2003. We have one beautiful daughter named Ambrie who is the coolest kid in the world. She was an unexpected blessing later in our marriage and we're incredibly proud to be her parents. We've attended Grace since September 2008. Shortly after deciding to call Grace our home, I was asked to join the worship band as one of the violinists. As the church and the worship ministry grew, I was asked to serve as a worship leader. In February 2018 I was hired on staff as the Worship Arts Director. I connect to God through music in a very special way, and I love watching others connect to Him in this way as well. In my spare time I've been known to pick up a camera and take some pretty cool photos. I love to take long bike rides with my family, play with our two dogs, read with my daughter, and watch movies with my husband. I'm also very passionate about coffee! If you see me at Grace, please be sure to introduce yourself so I can get to know you!
Children's Ministry Director
Hi! My name is Sarah. I have been working in children's ministry in some fashion since high school. I loved working in Awana, and Kids Sunday school at my home church in Hart, Michigan. After high school graduation I went to Cornerstone University as an elementary education major. It was there I met my biggest encourager in my husband Dennis. Dennis and I have been together since 2009. Married in 2012. It was after a lot of prayer that I felt God call me out of the education major and into a media major, hoping I could reach kids for Christ through this venue. I studied under one of Walt Disney's friends and the producer of Storytellers and Prince of Egypt. I learned a ton from my experience there and when I was wasn't doing design work for film or theatre you would find my hubby and I working at a Christan camp in the summers counseling and running activities. We learned so much about God and who he is from those campers. After graduation we both found steady jobs, sadly not in my field but with puppy dogs which I love. I taught and helped with children's church in a church near our home in Grand rapids until moving closer to Rockford in 2015. We have been at Grace ever since and have been involved in children's ministry here for most of it. My husband grew up at Grace calling it home for 20 years. Grace is a family and I'm so excited to be able to help bring our kids closer to God and deeper understanding of who He is. I work as a vet receptionist as well still with animals that I love. I love coffee and a good conversation and would love to get to know you better.
